The 'People Things Work Out For' Sessions, The Album

We didn't make our bodies any stronger, it's just electricity I can say goodnight to you in Warsaw and feel like you're next to me We're not invincible as we might seem to be Flying through the skies at night in human-made machines We are surrounded by the work of human hands We are too small, too young, and we don't understand In the dark can you see? If it went away could you re-create this technology? Do you need a light or can you see? If they took it away from you can you make anything?

although we conquered doubt, a fear might always stay inside ourselves preserving ego for a rainy day, a loneliness that sets in as we push away the work we do and ones we love until we dissipate I know the things that you say are not the things that I want to hear but I keep drilling til there's a problem to flaunt, to get red in the face searching for saviors to hate to keep us ready and willing until we're gasping and gaunt I know we'll talk about the future anyway, never second-guessing anyone who calls your name, a questioning without a greeting written in shame, a longing to repair since the precedent was made, but I know the things that you say are not the things that I want to hear but I keep drilling til there's a problem to flaunt, to get red in the face looking for saviors to hate to keep us ready and willing until we're gasping and gaunt I won't always see the things spelled out for me, whether I stay or go or feel uncomfortable loneliness it takes a lot out of its captor regardless if it knows what it's after.

Mom, mom, mom said Go get in line Mom, mom said get what they're selling We need it to survive This is helpful, this is very good I bought you some shovels 'Cuz they were selling them at the store when I passed It's always good to buy things in doubles This is helpful, this is very good When you talk to me I hear what you say, nothing more We are radios, we are radios, I'm sure A transmission from nothing is impossible I will always hear what you say, 'cuz it's audible These, these are numbers, and I know what they're for 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 6 5 4 They mean what they mean and they mean nothing more They're always the same as the time before This is helpful, this is very good I like measuring, I like making food I like other things, I like you I like patterns I like equations Astronauts and space stations, oh

An ode to those who talk in their car To themselves as they drive, you know who you are You work out the problems in your head Scared to be alive, petrified to be dead I know There is a void at the end, it's not your choice to pretend You're alone then you're not Alone then you're not Alone then you're not Alone then you're not again Falling through the cracks of thought That were left in your mind that time that you bought All the lines that were fed From a world that is red With desire and problems captive in labyrinths Just know There is joy at the end it's not your fault when you pretend An ode to those who vanish far from the lives that they leave and the ones that they start, all the love and the progress lie in their wake as the world on a wing and a prayer is shaking, know

I know I shouldn't But the way you brushed against me I know we didn't, but some day We will wake up on the other side of it If I met you just today I can't say that I would like you But when your body touches mine I am on fire every time If I just lay in your bed, I will imagine the rest I think that would be best, if it's all the same In my head When it comes to you, I think I believe in time travel When it comes to you, everything fades away When it comes to you, I believe everything fades with time You and I are the only ones left behind
